Regional ToF Caucasus Opens Sept 8

TurkThe Training of Facilitators (TOF) for Results-focused Project Design and Management for the Caucasus region is scheduled from 8-16 September at the Koc University in Istanbul, Turkey. This is the fifth in the series of seven planned for 2009 and will be delivered in the Russian language. This TOF will host a mix of at least 30 senior government staff from Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia, who are directly and indirectly involved in project design, development and even management. Lao TOF Closed with 36 Participants

Group PicThe Training of Facilitators (TOF)in the practice and use of the PPMS/DMF tools has been recently completed in Luang Prabhang, Lao PDR from July 21 to 29, 2009. The course was conducted by Andrea Iffland, Pet Misa, Thaniya Jirasathitpornpong and Do Quy Duong. It was held in the Grand Luang Prabang Hotel and it attracted 36 potential facilitators from nine countries including Laos, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Afghanistan, Philippines, PRC, Thailand, USA, and Vietnam.

One such an approach is the Satir Model. It relies on the idea that the process of change can be more empowering if the change comes from within.  Rather than focusing only on behaviour (that seems to be the focus of most interventions, today), we can learn to take charge of and change our feelings, our perceptions and our expectations.
